This intriguing deck of cards brings together a handpicked selection of striking portraits from across The Met collection, including the Portrait of Shun’oku Myoha (ca. 1383), Juan de Pareja (1650) by Velázquez, Sargent’s Madame X (1883–84), a commemorative portrait of a Hemba chief (Singiti) (19th–early 20th century), and Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with a Straw Hat (1887), among others.
