Bob Searles, the owner of Glass Explosions, began working in glass in 2005. He started working with stained glass, moving into glass slumping, fusing, flame working and traditional glass blowing. Each piece is carefully worked in the flame or kiln, then signed and numbered for your collection.
“I enjoy working with glass, light, and the interactions between the two. You can stare into and through a piece of glass and see different things in different light. You can see sparkle and shine from the front of the piece on a nice, sunny day, and you can see through and into the glass on a cloudy day…. it’s ever changing.”
After successfully completing recent cancer treatments, which necessitated a short break, he realized how much he enjoys creating, and being in the studio. He now contributes a portion of his proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
